Atsuya Ogawa and Seiji Ikaruga each added 14, while Otis Frazier and Gavin Edwards scored 12 apiece. Tokyo Starts Strong Before Utsunomiya Responds Tokyo established a 25–20 lead in the opening quarter, but Utsunomiya responded in the second. The visitors outscored Alvark 26–19 in the period to take a 46–44 advantage into halftime. Utsunomiya ultimately finished with five players in double figures, demonstrating the range of scoring options that challenged Tokyo throughout the contest. Fotu was particularly efficient inside the arc, converting six of seven two-point attempts. Ogawa finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Ikaruga supplied perimeter scoring and playmaking off the bench. A Decisive Third Quarter Changes the Game Tokyo delivered its strongest response immediately after halftime. Alvark outscored Utsunomiya 31–18 in the third quarter, turning a two-point deficit into a 75–64 lead entering the final period. The 13-point difference in the quarter proved decisive. Tokyo’s advantage provided a cushion that Utsunomiya was unable to erase, despite scoring 26 points in the fourth. Alvark added 25 points in the final period to reach the century mark and secure a 10-point victory. Tokyo scored 56 points across the second half, compared with Utsunomiya’s 44. Hogg Combines Scoring With Rebounding Strength Hogg delivered Tokyo’s leading individual performance, pairing 24 points with 10 rebounds. He converted six of 12 field-goal attempts, including four of five inside the arc, and repeatedly reached the free-throw line. His 10 successful free throws from 13 attempts accounted for a substantial share of Tokyo’s scoring. Hogg also collected nine defensive rebounds and recorded a block, contributing at both ends of the floor. Johnson added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Ando provided an efficient perimeter contribution. Ando finished 5-of-9 from the field, including three of six from beyond the arc, and converted both of his free throws. Jarreau and Iida Deliver From the Bench Tokyo’s reserves provided important offensive support. Jarreau scored 19 points in just under 22 minutes, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and making all six of his free throws. He added five assists, two rebounds and a block. Iida made all three of his field-goal attempts, each from three-point range, and converted his only free throw to finish with 10 points in fewer than 12 minutes. Zack Baranski contributed nine points, making three of four three-point attempts, while adding three rebounds and a steal. Together, Jarreau, Iida and Baranski accounted for 38 of Tokyo’s 40 bench points. Their production gave Alvark scoring options beyond its starting lineup. Rossiter Directs Tokyo’s Offense Rossiter scored three points, but his influence extended well beyond his own shooting. He recorded 12 of Tokyo’s 24 assists and collected nine rebounds, including four on the offensive glass. His distribution helped support an offense that converted 18 of 29 two-point attempts and 13 of 32 three-pointers. Tokyo also finished with a 38–34 rebounding advantage, with Hogg and Rossiter combining for 19 boards. The combination of interior efficiency, perimeter contributions and passing gave Alvark several ways to sustain its offense. Free-Throw Scoring Gives Tokyo an Additional Edge Both teams made 13 three-pointers, but Tokyo required fewer attempts to reach that total. Alvark shot 40.6 percent from beyond the arc, compared with Utsunomiya’s 31.0 percent on 42 attempts. Tokyo also established a significant advantage at the free-throw line, converting 25 of 34 attempts. Utsunomiya made 11 of 15. That 14-point difference in free-throw scoring exceeded the final margin. Hogg and Jarreau combined to make 16 free throws, providing a valuable source of points alongside Tokyo’s field-goal production. Utsunomiya’s Balanced Effort Falls Short Utsunomiya received contributions across its lineup. Fotu scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Ogawa added 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Ikaruga finished with 14 points, four rebounds and five assists, making four of eight three-point attempts. Edwards contributed 12 points and eight rebounds, and Frazier added 12 points and six boards. Despite that balance and a fourth-quarter scoring response, the visitors could not recover from Tokyo’s third-quarter surge. Hogg’s double-double, Rossiter’s playmaking and the scoring supplied by Tokyo’s reserves gave Alvark the collective production needed to turn a close first half into a home victory.
