Seagulls Get Revenge in 21–20 Thriller

Obic Seagulls opened the X-League Premier season with a dramatic 21–20 comeback victory over the Panasonic Impulse at Tokyo Dome.

In a rematch of the Rice Bowl, Panasonic controlled the first half and led 20–6. However, Obic shifted momentum after halftime, scoring a touchdown and adding multiple field goals before Shunsuke Shimada’s 27-yard kick in the fourth quarter sealed the win.

Obic finished with 245 passing yards and no turnovers, while Panasonic’s two interceptions proved costly.

Shimada, who recorded one touchdown and three field goals, earned MVP honors as Obic avenged their championship loss in the season opener.
